This was the third drawing I started during my recent MerMay themed Picarto stream.
This was the drawing I was working on when my migraine came crashing down on me hard and ended the stream short, and I think it shows in the piece. Given a chance I would do this over again, but I thought would post it anyways. Kind of like getting back on the bicycle.
I decided to not clean up or shade the drawing like I usually do. First, looking at the piece now without a screaming headache there’s multiple things I would do different again.
Second, this piece represents a moment in time. Both for Marina splashing in the sound, but also something that was happening to me at the moment. Going in and polishing the whole thing up felt like I was denying that this had happened to me.
Third, it shows folks who don’t regular tune in for my streams what one these drawings looks like after an hour of drawing. It’s not super tight and finely shaded. It’s rather coarse in spots
