For the moment I’m content to just say I’m AroAce and leave it at that. There’s probably a more specific label I could use, but I don’t feel the need to rush into it. Nothing wrong with starting broad and narrowing focus as you learn more, I figure.

I know many people don’t care or even don’t like labels, but it’s always mattered to me a lot in the sense that it’s comforting that enough people feel the same way for it to have a name :)
For what it’s worth, I only recently found my way to the spectrum after 40+ years of not having the faintest idea there was anything different about my experiences in that area. It was a discovery that involved a lot of complicated questions I’m still not sure I’m 100% on. I get the impression that’s common; this is one you apparently don’t get a nice clear cut answer to because it’s judging a lack rather than a presence of something. But there is some comfort in knowing that, late as I am to the party, I’m not alone in not being sure and that length of time doesn’t mean you don’t still end up rethinking things along the way.
Or to put it another way, thank you for being open about your uncertainties. It’s helpful for someone still feeling these things out.

Honestly wandering around for a while is perfectly fair, I’ve been labeling my self Bi and Pan for a while before kinda dialing in on Hetero-flex(hetero open). And who knows how set that is.
