A redraw of a frame from the Equestria Girls ‘Dance Magic’ short and music video of the same name. A very important and rare frame indeed. Not too often we get to see Flutters jammin’ out. Hands in the air like she just don’t care! :3
It’s been a while since I last drew Fluttershy in her dance uniform (a long while actually). ittedly tho, the previous piece to feature it wasn’t even necessarily within a “dance” context anyhow, which is a bit of a bungle on my part. If she’s wearin’ this outfit, ideally, she oughtta be dancin’! And as long as I’m drawing this outfit again, I figure it wouldn’t hurt to tweak the design a bit…
I’ve always felt the leggings-colored fabric on the midsection was a bit of a weird detail (Is it attached to the tights? Is it attached to the top? If it’s attached to the top, how come it’s not integrated into the arms like a sort of sleeved leotard?). It’s like they gave Fluttershy a purple cropped shirt, but didn’t want to show midriff, so they paintbucketed that part as a slap-on censor (it’s likely not a censor, but it does seem to come off that way, to me at least).
Enter, this screenshot edit I happened upon by warioman69. He’s done a few crop-top/belly baring edits of EqG outfits and ittedly, some of them are pretty cute concepts for outfit variations. I did a similar type of redraw to this in a previous piece from awhile back, but unlike that one, this variation on the original outfit just makes more sense feasibly. (Although, any excuse to draw some Flutter tummy is worth taking, lol.)
