Hi anon!
Would you give a shit about a pony-themed retro RTS, kinda like a spoof of the first two isometric C&C games?

Simple pony-themed rts would be nice but on the other hand I don’t really like ‘serious’ war themes with my pastel horses. Don’t let me stop you though, there seems to be lots of fans for it.

Ah, you’re probably thinking about games like Stellaris or Civilization. C&C wasn’t like that. In fact, if you attempt to turtle and waste time, a confident opponent will bring you down in under 20 mins. I estimate an average 1v1 match to last anywhere from that to around one hour max, non of that “spent the entire day on one session crap”.

When i say it’s a spoof i really mean it. There will be military themes, yes, but it’s not gonna be even remotely serious. Also, destroyed units will not be “dead”, as it were, but merely knocked out. I also wanna integrate a “recovery” mechanic, to where there’s a special unit that can recover knocked out units and bring them back to base for repairs.

>knock out mechanic
Top comfy, I don’t like the equestria at war seriousness at all but this ‘kinder royal guardsmares’ tier (if I understood your vision correctly) sounds really fun, cute and would definitely play it.

Thanks, anon! I’m still very much just planning, it would really help if i could figure out the core rock-paper scissors mechanics and unit roster. I’m thinking i will start with a recon unit, an MBT and a heavy unit. Plus a C&C style MCV and a recovery unit/builder.
Here, have some sketches.
