This piece was highly inspired by the recent Amethyst Star illustration by UncleChai.

I was fascinated by the expression and colours of their artwork. So I tried my hoof at drawing a similar piece. This is the first time I tried painting, and I had to learn how to pick colours manually without relying on blending modes. I did start the piece as my regular drawing and then decided to paint it a bit later. So it doesn’t look super-painterly, but I think it’s a great start.

I was also inspired by the works and colours of XallaanaCyoxCyor. This, for example

Oh, and btw. 100 watchers! I am so glad to have 100 pony people voluntarily subscribe to my artist tag. Derpibooru means more to me than any other place, since it’s the home of our pony art community that belongs to us, free of corporate bs.

I am hoping to continue contributing to the site both in of art and in of development. Dev contributions have been on pause recently, but I’m thinking of resuming some of that effort. I have big plans, just hope I have enough maretivation to make it through.
