“Okay you’re in what is often referred to as transitional smoke state. You’ve begun to enter your vessel but only hooves have begun flowing into the vessel. Now, Applebloom, Scootaloo what are you feeling right now?”
“Um everythin’ feels squishy below my knees!” Applebloom said.
“I suddenly feel really light and floaty.” Scootaloo replied.
Sweetie clapped her hands. “Excellent! That’s what you should be feeling! Now you can stay like this indefinitely, but you will need to get into your bottles and learn what feels and looks like!”
Scootaloo looked at Sweetie. “Hey Sweetie. Can there be more than one genie in a bottle?”
The genie looked over her shoulder. “Yes technically, but the 2 genies need to be very familiar with each other and themselves to avoid accidental merging inside the vessel. Normally it’s not dangerous, but not can be very embarrassing. That’s why I arranged for each of us to have our own vessel for this sleepover!”
“And we ain’t gonna git trapped in these her jugs once da corks r’ in place?” AB was eyeing her bottle suspiciously.”
Sweetie shook her head. “Nope! Even when the stopper in place you’ll be able to exit anytime you want. These vessels deliberately have no area binding wards on them. In fact Rarity put a very hefty anti-tampering ward on them just as additional insurance.”
“So am I gonna just be a bunch of smoke in a bottle once I’m stuffed in here?” The earth pony now temporary genie asked.
Sweetie sighed. “Only if you she to remain like that. But once you’ve entered, and especially once the stopper is in place you can reform and you’ll find yourself in a modestly equipped bedroom with a futon, lots of pillows, bedding and lighting you can adjust. Oh and Wi-Fi! So feel free bring your phones with you! I’ll give you 2 the to the locked network. Oh! And before we all go in!”
The genie snapped her fingers but nothing seemed to happen. Seeing the confusion on her friend’s face the marshmallow genie giggled. “I forgot to install monitors inside your vessels! Now we’ll be able to video chat with each other once we’re inside our vessels. My family has had this system for years! Oh! And before anypony asks, yes there’s a bathroom and snack fridge in your vessels with snacks and drinks in them.”
Scootaloo looked down a bit more excited now. “Cool! That awesome Sweetie! So how exactly do go in?”
Sweetie smiled. “Well me let show you how enter and exit your vessels and set the stoppers. Once you’re comfortable with that I’ll show you how you can cast very limited wishes for the next 24 hours!”

One thing genies can do if they have sufficient power, and the consent of the other party is to turn others into genies as well for a finite amount of time. These part-time genies also have very limited capabilities when it comes to the power of their wishes.
Now Applebloom and Scootaloo have known for quite awhile that Sweetie and her family are all genies, but they finally got around to asking her what it was like to be in a bottle, and Sweetie thought the best way for them understanding was if they were genies themselves.
