In the US, Sundays start the week, so in a way it’s only been one week since I posted the Fancyprantz piece.
Anyway, with Halloween Nightmare Night coming around the corner, I thought it would be fun to draw the Cutie Mark Crusaders dres. And of course, I had them dress up as the Super Secret Pup Club. I originally sketched Sweetie Belle dressed up as Cupcake, but it didn’t look right, so I didn’t vector it. Also, I couldn’t find it. I decided to add a background, for once.
The idea here is supposed to be that Scootaloo decided to dress up as her favorite character from Pound Puppies and somehow convinced Applebloom to dress up as Rebound. Applebloom doesn’t seem too happy. I wouldn’t blame her, she had to trade in her huge bow for a tiny one that doesn’t even appear on Rebound on the show.
A couple more things:
*Patches’ white ear and Rebound’s bow were re-traced from previous vectors I’ve done. The rest of the piece was traced from a single sketch.
*The Rebound ears don’t have shadows because I couldn’t figure out how they were supposed to be layered.
*If you’re wondering why their dog tags are different, it’s because <spoiler> the SSPC’s silver ones got exchanged for golden ones in “All Bark and Little Bite” after they officially became Pound Puppies-in-training </spoiler>.
*The red bow’s from the packaging of Rebound’s Adopt-N-Love plush.
*Applebloom’s costume is the same one Pinkie wore here, which she got from the same place she got her Fluttershy costume in MLP:FiM S3EP01 (Rarity, maybe?). Don’t know where Scootaloo got hers, though.
*I still haven’t watched Equestria Girls and I’m a month and a half behind on Pound Puppies.
*The background’s supposed to be the gradient used for the text in the Pound Puppies logo.
*Applebloom looks cute with a fang.
