Yeah I when they were almost going to do that. I wouldn’t mind a few characters come back, but they should reboot them, kinda like how G4 rebooted some characters and made them new.

Hey, I like history. That’s a much complicated question than it seems. Like, yeah, some historical periods look lame compared to our modern era. But still there were people who lived in those times who were able to find happiness in such harsh conditions.
Besides, our perception of the past is often shaped by history books, which most times emphasize the bad things like wars and inequality, and is probable that our current era is also going to be seen as flawed by future generations.
Also, while many of us prefer our time, there were, and are people who genuinely ire past epochs, and would likely say yes to live there.
Sorry if this feels not of MLP, but I had to say it.

Also your assumption that anything “old is bad,” is kinda unfair, as a lot of good old media exists, and not everything new is good. Arguably, G4 is “old” now, as it’s now 15 years old, and it’s been 6 years since it ended.
And ironically many prefer G4 over G5.

In fairness, I see G1 get regard in anniversary merch, and on the official MLP streaming channel they show G1 episodes as much as G4.

There’d be no G4 if not for previous gens. Heck don’t forget Rainbow Dash, Scootaloo, and Sweetie Belle were G3 characters.
It kinda annoys me when people disrespect old gens… Like TMNT fans who say the original cartoon was “bad,” but don’t realize they wouldn’t have the later ones if the old one wasn’t popular.

Also, we wouldn’t of had MLP villains, which was a concept the G1 MLP cartoons had. Among other things.
