They mention that Tara was trolling Twitter. Trolling involves a certain deception where the troll is not explicit, but Tara was very obviously teasing her fans, who knew better than Tara how this was going to end. Tara was mostly posting innocent screenshots of her characters with saucy comments. The Timmy Turner tweet is a G-rated screencap of him looking shocked, having lost his trunks at a pool, with Tara writing, “One more … me totally naked!”
Towards the end of her reign of tease and terror on the 16th, she posted a Twilight pic and it was different: it was fan art, not a screenshot, and it was in the style of early cheesecake: saucy pose and eyes, no bits visible, clothes a bit risque (yes, ponies are mostly naked, but traditional Euro-American harness in Equestria tends to take on bondage overtones). Call it PG Rule 34. That tweet was deleted, but this one survives as a timestamp of sorts: “@tarastrong confirmed looking at saucy pics of her ponysona” (7:47 PM). Some people were delighted, some thought, “uh-oh,” and a few were distressed that Tara had stumbled upon the weird side of the Internet.
The next day she apologized for the teasing and went right back to doing it. Eventually the replies, or someone in personal with her, got through: she asked what trolling was at 10:48 AM, and then:
“Well…today I’ve learned that some people REEEAALLLY LOVE cartoons…like more than friends” (11:30 AM)
“What’s rule 34??!!!” (11:43 AM)
“Dear Princess Celestia, the Internet scares me..” (12:31 PM)
(The order and timing of these tweets is exquisite.) Tara’s recovery took less than two hours and was complete enough to post a pic as, perhaps, a reminder that Tara had been in R-rated shows before and her name would not the safest kids’ show actor name to search. And even maybe that Tara’s an itted flirty girl who wishes her husband would be a little more possessive.
