That specific power source was evil, and though unintentionally, she did end up bringing it to somepony more likely to take better care of it than a shady merchant. Also, she was possessed by an evil artifact for a considerable amount of time and didn’t do a significant amount of damage, despite the power boost it gave her. The Princesses didn’t even notice anything was wrong. I’d say she did all right.
