I agree with this 100 percent. A game can be well made and have great ideas but still ed off as “okay” to some, such as an IGN reviewer, because it wasn’t their cup of tea.
@Lawful Girly
Oh? I’ve seen their rating on LEGENDARY and they said it was painful. I personally believe they’re being a bunch of prejudice jerks, because that game ROCKED!
It’s a shame, since Gamespot was once known for being the game review site that was more honest with its scores, often brutally so.
These days I prefer to get my reviews from places like Destructoid or the Escapist.
That was at Gamespot. Jeff Gerstmann gave Kane & Lynch: Dead Men 6/10, so Gamespot gave him the boot.
IGN still does suck though.
Wasn’t there that fiasco about the game reviewer at IGN who gave a bad score to some triple A title and got fired?
I know. Didn’t wanna alienate Joshua if he’s not a troper, though.

Basically, anything under 6 is shit.

“10/10”. Because IGN virtually never rates even the worst game below 7, and is absurdly hyperbolic in the scores in general.
