Everybody who says “People in third world countries have it worse!” is a bigger asshole than the person complaining. You’re just trying to make people feel bad, you’re not changing anything for the better.
In fact, you’re probably worsening things by propagating the idea that third world countries are nothing but ransack huts filled with misery, pain, hunger, and death.
I get the comparison here, and maybe people like OP have a point, but I hate the notion that people in the first world can’t complain about their problems at all because someone else has it worse. It’s like saying I can’t complain about losing my foot to an infection because someone else got shot ten times, and thus I am “more fortunate” than that person. Sure, I am, but losing your foot still fucking sucks.
I mean, naturally.
