First World: America Aligned capitilist democracies/NATO.
Second World: Soviet Aligned communist nations/ Warsaw Pact.
Third world: Everyone else.
The reason developing nations and the Third World became synonymous was because you tended to be poor as shit if you didn’t sign up with one of the two superpowers.
Alcoholics Anonymous does not exist in less privileged nations.
Side note: There’s a first world and a third world but no second world. That seem weird to anyone else, or is it just me?

I’d imagine that there’s plenty of drunks in third-world countries too, although it’d be limited to those who still have booze money left over after buying food.
