A better name for that second time dimension is the dimension of probability. With the fourth dimension you have everything that plays out over the timeline, and with the 5th you have everything that plays out in the timeline if a certain set of things happen or don’t happen, with that set changing depending on the 5D coordinate, with timelines that are farther apart in probability space deviating more from those closer together. When you alter the past you alter the 5D coordinate

so you’re suggesting that starlight still wanted her revenge against a unicorn she never even met, after either getting enslaved by sombra, imprisoned by chrysalis, drained by tirek, or discorded by discord? uh huh.
in the back to the future style, the grandfather paradox is solved by a second time dimension. no, really. over this second time, the future changes from what it was to what it is, including any time travellers. so, starlight would just have her old life fade in around her.
the pony show solved it by the many worlds interpretation. but either way, no grandfather paradox.
they still missed a hell of an opportunity to have twilight completely confused to wake up as a friendless unicorn in canterlot, and have to fix things from there.
The ones involved in the time travel didn’t get their memories changed in BTTF, and same here. Yes, Starlight’s village should probably have been restored (though maybe destroyed too), but she couldn’t have know until return to it.
Losing her wings momentarily maybe it could’ve been an interesting addition (since she lost the castle too), fighting more like equals with Starlight, but that would have made difficult for her to fight and move around Cloudsdale, except if she have learn to fly without magic too.

Cue the Grandfather Paradox. After all, this means that Starlight was never chased out of her village, which means she never went back in time, which means she never stopped Twilight from becoming an alicorn, which means…
Yeah, this is why I think Starlight’s spell didn’t remove or create any timelines. It simply shifted the course of history.
