I have to agree with RIG here, Roboshi. There’s different reasons for the outfit the various Links wear. Such as the Hero of Time being raised by the Kokiri, and the Hero of the Skies being given the outfit upon graduation. However, they’re all connected to the destiny of the Champion of Hylia.

Minish cap takes place before Ganondorf was even born as it sets up the legend of the green hero with his green cap. It is the reason for every other link to wear that outfit.
