Perhaps it’s because it’s revolved around high school. A lot of manga and anime series revolved around high schools tend to have internally consistent world.
The difference in format and age (3 70 minute movies once a year vs. 5 seasons each year of roughly 20 episodes of 20 minutes each with a rotating cast of writers) probably plays a role too. The less “volume” (so to speak) probably makes for less inconsistencies.

Well I guess feet are pretty nice too. Its just you put hands and feet on a pony, you get far too down in the uncanny valley for me to engage insertion protocols.
