It’d be interesting to see how you could modify the hair to look more natural from that angle, since you’re right, hair should be coming off more than just a stripe down the middle…
I would say for humans, and horses manes are just a stripe down the middle, and then I realized that we do see ponies that have hairstyles that would be impossible if the mane was just a stripe down the middle like on real horses :P

By anatomy I meant the general body structure, maybe I should’ve been more specific.
A number of their features are more anatomically human, though, such as binocular vision, eyes and eye lashes and hair.
And the horn. That’s definitely human anatomy. ( :P )
