@Cirrus Light
I can agree to her being punished too harshly. But at the same time, I can also see where some of the other people are coming from in regards to her seeming to lack empathy.
Hey, both is fine as long as we get to eat cookies.
@genervt
I like Starlight and even I think her redemption was rushed and sloppy. As for Diamond Tiara, I honestly think her redemption was probably one of the worst in the series (I felt that episode as a whole was disappointing). But I digress.
@Cirrus Light
It’s definitely escalating hard and fast but I recommend having cookies instead. Who doesn’t love cookies?
I recommend we have Dusty crying her head off in repentance as she’s horribly publicly executed. Then we’ll all be able to agree she was punished too harshly and it was terrible, that way we can get along.
Maybe we can’t agree on what’s right, but if something outrageously excessive and horrible happens then we can all agree it was wrong. It’s a wonderful win-win for everyone! Except Lightning Dust. RIP :p
Eh… they’d never get away with showing that on TV.
I honestly prefer her being irredeemable, because then it saves the writers trouble with writing yet another half-assed redemption story. (Looking at you, Starlight and Diamond Tiara)

Actually, it was a simple question.
And the reason for that is because there’s no comeuppance to be had.
Dust got what she deserved six years ago already, and she got it again now as well.
She ruined things for herself and her suckers teammates by coercing a filly into doing something that probably would’ve seriously hurt/killed her despite her not wanting to, then lying by saying she’d have done the stunt herself if she knew she was going to back off. That simply shows she’s learned nothing from what happened back then, and it was clear she isn’t willing to change her ways even now. If opinions of her team haven’t taken a massive hit after that, then I’ll be disgusted at how quick they forget things.
Just face it. Loser Dust’s real calling is the trash-bin of ridicule.
@ThisGuyHasNoName
I was not aware that we are having an argument.
You said yourself that Spitfire will never get her comeuppance.
And Dusty deserved her second chance 6 years ago (and would have gotten it if it weren´t for the meddling).
Now she is doing great without the Wonderbolts, no thanks to the Mane 6 or incompetent Cringefire.
She got a steady gig doing what she loves with adoring fans all over Equestria. Girl’s true calling brought her a ragtag rad-rad bunch of friends and teammates.
And when she returns there are plenty great stories that can be done with her (none of those includes humiliation).
Is this how you win arguments? By putting words in people’s mouths? Having someone who has no sense of teamwork and cares nothing for anyone’s safety would’ve reflected poorly on the Wonderbolts. Spitfire was in the right in giving her the boot.
Then again, I don’t expect someone who gives Dust a free at every turn to understand.
What LD deserved was to get humiliated, and it happened twice. If she comes back again, I expect it to happen again, because she made no indication of changing her attitude.
I strongly disagree.
But I will take the cookies (even if I have to come to the dark side).
Heh, I know. =P
Oh, I dunno… I think arguments would continue to rage even after the deed was done. Some die-hards just don’t know when to quit after all. =P
@mjangelvortex
Cookies? Don’t mind if I do!

You know I’m kidding, right? Of course they’d never do that, and shouldn’t, either :q
But hey (mostly) everyone would agree she was punished too harshly and these arguments would come to an end… mostly.
@mjangelvortex
Why not both?

Only in your wishful thinking.
……….
Well, now it’s clear we don’t see eye to eye on what makes a good redemption story.
We’ll just have to agree to disagree on this one.
But it doesn’t make you any less wrong.
No.
Those redemptions were great and so will be Dustys.
I accept your surrender.

Nice to know you it you are. =P

But Dr. Manhatten says yes :p
Of course there will be never any comeuppance for Cringefires incompetence and many gifted fliers pay the price.
Nope, she deserved her redemption 6 years ago and still deserves it now.
Like it or not, the Washouts are very successful and popular throughout Equestria and that is not going to change.
Just face it. Dusty is doing great.

Dusty deserves friendship and happiness and she got what she deserved.
I say never, because Spitfire only did her job.
As far as I’m concerned, LD deserves more humiliation.
You know that you just contradicted yourself?
Besides, Dusty has the Crushinator Jaws of Smashalot (patent pending), so your argument is invalid.
Never. Just like Dust won’t get any redemption.
So when will Spitfire get her comeuppance?
She is the worst.
