Anime is short for Animeshun, which is based on the English word Animation, the earliest anime were anime were inspired by the earliest American cartoons from the 1930’s, anime is litterally just Japanese for cartoon, you weebs

This is what I keep hearing people say, but that’s not any more true than it is in the west these days. Anime tends to be more mature in general as they treat children as being a lot more intelligent. Still aimed at children most the time though.
We do owe them though for their more adult stuff, since it paved the way for the west to start making shows like Rick and Morty. To show there is an audience out there for mature cartoons.

So if i am calling Tiger From Asia as “Asian Tiger”, that make me racist toward that tiger. Good. you know look definition of Racist “a person who believes that a particular race is superior to another.”, so unless if believe that Western Animation is Superior than Japanese. there is no reason to call me Racist what so ever including that i am calling it Japanese Cartoon as “Anime” or whatever. also note that it’s for a Race which is ““Race, as a social construct, is a group of people who share similar and distinct physical characteristics.[](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Race_(human_categorization)), so it’s not a valid word to describe other thing than a human.
