The comparison is incorrect because these are more like World of Warcraft expansions than anything. If this were a normal game, Taken King and Rise of Iron would have basically been like the annual full-price Call of Duty instalment on a new disc.
Plus, the expansion was clearly for the first two. They did not even mention Taken King until E3 2015.

The “expansion ” didn’t even cover TTK or Iron Whatever this new POS is. This is the most blatant cash grab since Call of Duty, and this franchise is only one game old!
