It all seems very dependent on timing and luck, somehow.
With the right care, baby sea ponies can be thawed out of glacial ice. And I think there’s one where some more baby ponies just turn up in a cave or something too, but I’ve not read that one yet.

Maybe it’s a printing thing. These comics were pretty good at maintaining their own continuity, always bringing back the same characters and calling back to earlier events.
The shortie in the first is Baby AJ (>>97564), which is why she’s being a kid and not helping. Baby Lemon Drop in the 1st only has one droplet too.

Oh you have no idea. The comics ended up providing origin stories for the first line of “Baby X” toys, of which there were many later lines, and as such they are full of the most amazing wtfery.
