I find it weirder that a few newspaper comics like Rex Morgan try to be 100% serious. It’s pretty hard to get immersed in a gunfight or a chase scene when it goes 3 s at a time for months.

The whole joke of cartoon strips is on the readers. They’re really only made to build a stable fanbase of children who find them slightly entertaining, so they can make 20+ years of merchandise off of them.
