It could be that she’s just following comic book classic tropes before starting to subvert them, though. Honestly, this one short is one I wouldn’t advice for people to read much into. I mean, I don’t think Sunset would really think Applejack would throw an old lady in attempting to stop the villain, but more like she threw it in because she found it funny. XD
@Cabrony
He’s looking at a pretty brief sentence, probably just community service. Going to trial should be enough to scare him straight; if he’s literally smashing open a display window in broad daylight, he’s almost certainly a first offender and definitely not a hardened criminal.
And, too, the criminal going to jail’s the traditional ending for a comic book – but I agree, I don’t really like that this is how Sunset’s imagination’s working. She’s definitely paid her redemption forward, but maybe you have to be powerful as well as sympathetic before she starts feeling that forgiving. (Or maybe this just doesn’t to her as the same kind of thing as the stuff she’s done and casually forgiven.)
@Cabrony
He’s male and broke an actual law as opposed to a cute girl slinging magic, so… Probably not. Presumably it’s not a life sentence or anything, and with any luck, he’ll only be in there for a little while.

I’m currently leveling up my vengeance gear to 60, which is going a lot easier than I thought it would be.
