I like both, Celestia and Luna but I prefer Celestia because of the way she is: A wise ruler who cares about her subjects and who do anything for their safety, a teacher for younger ponies (I mean children not all other ponies who are also younger then Celestia), a role model and a mother/big sister like kind of person.
Luna is more like someone who rarely went outside because of feeling left out but once she gets over it, she is a good friend, a role model and protector for younger ponies and one of those friends, who can act like a therapist (I’m sure many of us have met at least one person like this, who always gives you mental ).
I don’t any of those memes but starting a fight over them is just silly^^
continues worshiping the sunbutt anyway, but worships the moonbutt too…is the only one doing it properly they are a matched set, why doesnt anyone get it if you have one you have to have the other!

Heck, some get butthurt if you so much as make a “Scootachicken” joke. (Which isn’t overdone anymore either.) I honestly kinda prefer/miss some of the old memes as honestly we haven’t had many good ones recently.

Trollestia wasn’t quite a fan-character as much as she was basically just a satirical fan interpretation meme of her basically acting like a prankster or “troll.” The old fan-animation “Friendship is Magic Biotch,” (where the “Do you like bananas?” gag came from) and some fan-comics popularized it a bit. Some fans oddly took the satire quite seriously, so some oddly think that’s how she actually is in canon. While others grew to hate the meme as a result, and started becoming overly defensive of Celestia. So there were some extremes on both sides.
As for Princess “Molestia,” from what I heard she never actually “raped” anybody, but I never really read it.
The anti-Molestia “DWM” (Down With Molestia) movement sparked on Tumblr (back in the Season 3 days) was a total spaghetti-fest regardless what your thoughts on that fan comic were though. I never saw such hate for bronies from other bronies ironically.

Molestia was a fanfiction version of Celestia that went through and raped all of the mane 6. She was made popular by John Joseco who made “AskMolestia” which was about Celestia as a nymphomaniac. It got even more popular when he effectively got shut down by one person screaming “rape jokes arent funny” loud enough.
The Celestia vs. Luna thing reached its peak around seasons 2-3. Since most people favored Luna all the hipsters hopped on Celestias side
Actually, kinda has a point, people shouldn’t be too overly-protective of their favorite characters, (I see fans get mad if say their fav’ character stubs their toe, or something…) but to be fair, most didn’t even use those memes out of malice for her. The “Trollestia” gag was just a silly parody.

I got into MLP recently (less than 1 year), so I honestly don’t know what its talking about. Seems like the community just talks about the movie and season 8 speculation.
