Seems like they capped the maximum amount of gems you could get at 30. It’s understandable considering a 1:1 conversion would’ve absolutely broken the game, but not telling anyone what the conversion rate and cap was beforehand left a bad taste in a lot of people’s mouths.
@Dustcan
The first one. The person is second place had only three hundred more tokens than I did, and the person in first had two thousand more than the person in second.
Man, I no-lifed the game until I had 102,853 shadow crystals. I woke myself up at 6:25 in the morning just so I could use the last thirty-five minutes of the event to defeat the final boss just under the wire just so I could maximize the number of shadow crystals I could get. However, I ended up with only thirty gems as well.
>Sombra stops being a King, powerful, tall and strong
>Sombra becomes a literal Wondering cutie-markless abomination until his health declines and turn into a umbrum once again
>He will be living a lie all over again
>He not only betrayed the crystal empire and the umbrums, his own kin who desperate are trying to save themselves from the twisted magic of the crystal empire, but in this ending he basically backstabbed himself
Worst possible ending. Thank God this is not canon.
Fortunately I did not buy any shadow crystals with real money. The conversion there was like five shadow crystals = one gem (such a big difference compared to this, huh?)
I had 27754 shadow crystals and got only 30 gems. Basically, the game lied to me (and to other people too as I can see. I thought I was the only one).
They said “Shadow crystals will be converted to gems”. Well, they “forgot” to convert 27724 crystals into gems… Greedy bastards.
Sombra never in the king, radiant hope get cutie mark, save sombra Friendship forever, you idw comics!

You either no-lifed really hard or there are only 2 whales playing.
Congrats…I think.
My community rank was three, though.
And that makes 0 sense. What did you just write about?
Same.
That just sounds… weird.
They could have at least made it 100…
hopefully the show puts an end to this and makes the “Sombra is Grogar’s apprentice” backstory in S9 canon
Edited because: S9 Spoilers

No, the crystals converted. They just “forgot” to mention that the cap is 30.

If it had been
10,000 shadow crystal = 30 gems
instead of “30 gems is the maximum”, then I wouldn’t be rich but those 180 gems would have certainly been helpful…

I guess it was even more pointless of me to accumulate all those shadow crystals before defeating the final boss yesterday…
I kept making sure to collect them before they reached the limit.
