Also while in of just casual discussion we lump together MLP:FiM & EQG as one Hasbro IP, in a corporate sense and looking at the last year of content it would appear that Hasbro is treating MLP & EQG as two separate IP’s.
I mean on paper and in official documentation they’re not but it does seem like that’s how they’re approaching it.

It’s crazy how in less then three weeks we can say “FiM ends this year”. This will be the last New Year’s where we will have new FiM content to look forward to.
It’s kind of commonly excepted that a Equestria Girls will last for a few years after Friendship is Magic ends. And the IDW comics will still be around years after Equestria Girls ends.

FiM is ending, not MLP. EG is a MLP spin-off anyway, so how can it end if its sister IP continues?

The series finale for MLP:FiM has been announced. Season 9 has a date.
Equestria Girls is in it’s 2nd Season and there is, on the books, another movie long special in production.
Even if you ignore production announcements and investment reports, MLP has had it’s ending announced EQG has not.
did hasbro confirm that EG will continue?
