It’s either that or she’s attempting to make some sort of point that Rarity isn’t as great a dress maker as others think, but if that’s the case then she isn’t giving Rarity enough credit and it’s going to blow up in her face.

Now I seem to understand what Blue’s evil scheme is. She wants to win a dress reward, and she needs somepony like Rarity to do the job for her. Rarity is a GREAT dress maker.
