Missed this detail at first, but Gohan referencing Goku’s CANON reason for letting Vegeta go is inconsistent with the Abridged continuity.
In the Abridged continuity, Goku stopped Krillin from killing Vegeta just in case Vegeta was sorry for attacking Earth, which he claimed at first, but took advantage of the opportunity to finish getting ready to leave.
Hrum, this does put me in mind of an idea, of a kind of primordial demon of violence and rage. I shall call it The Monster.
The Monster jumps from host to host, perhaps even multiple hosts because it’s got primordial mind to spare. It does its thing as a primordial demon of violence and rage, ripping and tearing, until a hero steps up and stops ‘em. But wait! The hero did a violence, and now the demon can use the hero as a host. Welp, damn.
A new hero steps up, and tries to use pacifism to beat the demon. The demon simply laughs and tears them apart, because it is not, in fact, repelled or destroyed by peacefulness. Actually, the very act of trying is an act of violence, trying to beat two metaphysical concepts against each other. Way to go.
And The Monster even brags about it. Can’t fight The Monster, because if you win it’ll just jump to you as its new host. Can’t do nothing, because then The Monster kills you. It just seems to me, Terry, that’s what’s happening here with the Darkness, as its presented here anyway. A No Win situation. Ingenious
Of course, you could trick. Lure The Monster into a prison it can’t escape from. Having to use guile instead of smashing it or “present it its opposite” like setting fire to a block of ice seems appropriate to me. Just not very exciting or inspiring.

I’m just working logically off of what Nomura’s mess of a canon has to offer, in fact that one “Darkness is hate and rage” line is ripped straight from Birth by Sleep.

For some reason, Riku was a bit silly in Days and most of KH2. KH3D sees him back in action.
I’ve only played KH1, Chain of Memories, and KH2. I’m having issues getting to play the rest. T-T
But then he wouldn’t become CoM Riku or KH3D Riku…
