What gave that away? Was it the bitter attitude? The always angry look? Her general disrespect and disdain to everyone around her, including her only child? Nah, can’t be, maybe it was the mane.
As a very apathetic person, I can confirm, this is not how we act. She’s just got a lot of anger bottled up and it’s consuming her, taking away all her motivation to just live properly, and she ends up taking it out on Apogee as a result.
“Mom, this is why I have wet dreams about having sex with you and dad. I’m that desperate for affection, and the intense cravings for parental love are manifesting the only way my developing brain knows how.”||
“Hey, crotch-spawn. Look, it’s nothing personal. You didn’t ask to be born, and you weren’t the one who tricked me. But you’re the physical embodiment of my shattered dreams, so don’t expect me to lavish you with affection.”

You know. I don’t think it’s disdain for her daughter so much as she just…
Kinda’ hates everything.
To be honest, I feel it’s less hate and disdain and much more apathy and indifference. From what I she feels like she’s been used and betrayed and her dream is unattainable.
“Hey Potato Jack, what’s green, drunk, diseased, moody and dying of famine?”
“I really don’t like Irish jokes, Potato Pie.”
“Are you saying they don’t… a-peel to you?”
“I hate you, Potato Pie.”
“Aw, c’mon, don’t be Irish!”

How is Delta supposed to show that to Apogee when she believes that getting pregnant with her is what ruined her chances of achieving her dream(s)?
