I really like this page. It’s not only funny and well drawn, but I think it also represents Apogee’s subconscious feelings about their real life situation.

I think the idea is that she waited to reach escape velocity, then immediately turned the engines off (without stopping to announce having reached it).

That’s not how the world works, sadly. And I very much doubt that’s how this story will work. The sad bit is… these two loved each other. But one decided her dream was more important than that love, while the other decided he would hijack her life in favor of a dream that involved him, her, and a baby. We say “Oh, fuck him!” but here’s the thing… it was working. He told her a pretty lie, she bought it, and they were happy.
If he’d just kept his mouth shut he would have delivered on everything he wanted for them, but the moment he told her she could have had that dream after all that same selfish desire that told her to throw everything out in favor of pursuing it came rushing back, making her the bitter woman we see. And she took that out on her child too, who had no input in all of this. She just wanted a mom and dad like any other kid.
Delta made choices too. She chose to abandon Jet to begin with. She chose to abandon Jet again after the lie was exposed. She’s chosen this life of squalor when she could have sued Jet for everything, taken the company, and her daughter as well.
Thing is… I don’t think Apogee would care about any of this. Because it’s all meaningless bullshit. These ponies hurt each other, but damnit there was love, once.

Given what we just witnessed here? She’ll keep trying to get them back together again for all of time if she has to. I don’t know if it’ll ever happen but she’s sure gonna keep trying anyway.
