Ah okay I also hope that some people do realize that even though the staff are the ones who watch over the site doesn’t make them any different from regular s like we’re not the only ones who have to follow the rules everyone has to follow the rules just like how it is with normal citizens and the police the police maybe the authority but they also have to follow the law regardless whether if there the authority or not.
Hopefully none of the staff find this offensive or anything I’m just trying to make a point.
I really do like the staff here and I would never do anything to offend someone.

One can leave staff without being banned, or alternatively be banned without leaving staff, so no, they’re separate things.
It’s very different from the real world, primarily because everyone on staff does it voluntarily, we’re not “working” on derpibooru all day every day, for some it’s barely even once a week, so there’s no quota, and no punishment if someone wants to take some time off.
Staff generally ask to be banned as a way to force themselves to take a break sometimes, or other miscellaneous reasons.
If someone goes rogue and majorly fucks up somehow, then yeah they might get a ban in the process of being removed from staff.
Bans are no big deal anyway, it’s easy to remove them.
I don’t think it’s called getting banned if you’re a staff member I think it mostly just means getting fired because that’s how it works for staff in the real world if they can’t do there job then they can’t keep their job.
Fun fact, on Wikipedia an accidentally banned site founder Jimbo Wales indefinitely. It was quickly reverted but said was sent to the stocks (WP:STOCKS of you want to see)
