@Michaelsety
i too would have like human skin tones,but skin color has become such a delicate topic to talk about,atleast in america,its not even funny.
@The New Pony
i do call ignorant a person that wants to ignore what is in front of their eyes.
im really not getting what are you going about with the ethnicity stuff,maybe you missed that i called this Twilight cute,thus i do like it,therefore it implies i dont have a racial bias.
in fact you went all up in arms against a statement i expressed,but apparently i am the fragile one.
and i too will repeat it
they used pony color to avoid backlash,a backlash that is very much politic based.
Why do you think people go ape when an artist is blackwashing or whitewashing a certain character?
its the same thing. but in this case people at Hasbro decided that they didnt want to spark the drama at all!
thus they went with the pony colors.
im explaining this to you in good will,and i do hope you understand what i meant.
@Vexxo
You need to get your fragility under control it’s flaring up. I didn’t even insult you like that. Your the only one coming off as ignorant here. I’ll repeat myself; you and whatever nationality or enthic group you come from are not the DEFAULT human being and the universe does not revolve around your group. They went with pony colors because that makes the most sense visually and marketing wise. Nothing political that’s just people like YOU trying to make it that way. As for a milk white Twilight no I wouldn’t have cared about that just like the vast majority of people.
@Vexxo
There’s nothing political about the design. You and whatever ethnic group or nationality you come from are not the default human being and the universe does not revolve around you.

Or maybe the last few seasons of MLP FIM we’ve just had was the original idea for Equestria Girls as sometimes scrapped concept ideas get eventually used later on in the franchise/series like that episode of the Loud House where Lincoln imagines himself as a rabbit which in was the original idea for The Loud House itself
@Background Pony #8569
Yep, there’s that too. The only important thing we found out about the production today (besides the concept arts) is that the weird hoof-shaped lower legs they had was something mandated by Hasbro.
@Background Pony #A3A6
True. Maybe that’s why the production staff went with the pony colours! I asked Kora on Twitter if she did other characters in this style and she answered that Twilight was the only one and after that they went with designs of different proportions that retained the pony colours..
I’d be willing to bet there was plenty of discussion on the matter behind the scenes. And it might also have nothing to do with how they thought people would react, and just is more of a “we wanted to emphasize the connection to the pony character” situation. We’re unlikely to ever know either way.

I did. Sadly the first thing my mind came back with was that the initial outcry over this side series would have included racist comments as well, making the whole situation even worse than it ultimately ended up being.
Perhaps it’s a good thing that they ultimately went with their pony colors. You can imagine them any nationality or culture you want that way, and no one is ever wrong in doing so.
After looking this design over and over again, I think it’s fairly cute (even cuter than I originally thought it already was). I wonder if Kora drew all of the Mane 6 in this style.
Was Equestria Girls originally going be just like the Humanised fan art of MLP FIM itself, basically having multicoloured haired humans living in a world of Magic, Monsters, strange weather and ancient artefacts?
Pfffft
It would be an interesting version to explore :>

R.I.P Human Coloration…

Are you ignorant?
why do you think they went with pony colors in the first place?
to avoid all the bitching from people crying for “diversity”.
but ehi,if its not political im sure a milk white Twilight would have been fine in your book aswell,wouldnt she?
There’s nothing political about the design. You and whatever ethnic group or nationality you come from are not the default human being and the universe does not revolve around you.
What is Politic? There’s no such thing as Politic about Legalized Human Coloration.
The idea that even HAVING A RACE is a political statement just shows how wildly oversensitive people are to the topic of social politics.
Being black or being white is not a political statement in and of itself.

I suppose yes…? But I am pretty sure the HuMane 6/7 would still be high schoolers.
