Yep, WADs are custom Doom levels, art and other stuff. There’s more info about the map I mentioned here if you want to read. I don’t know about Mr. Alm’s gaming habits, though. Maybe he just liked the track?

Then I ed the same track is used in Doom 2 WAD Scythe 2. Gives this image quite a different feeling.
