Dwa kiriny na pustyni
urządziły wielki bal.
Przydybały kucoperkę.
Nabijały ją na pal.
Wzięły klaczkę i pieprzyły,
posoliły, usmażyły.
No a potem niosły covid
za pustynię w siną dal.

Of course, but basically this virus spread to a person due to unsanitary conditions, constant human with animals, a bat or a pig can be an incubator for a new virus in poor conditions, maybe a person on that market was without special protection and did everything with his bare hands.
@Atlas_66
Not exactly about bats. There’s just not much taboo in Chinese food, especially in certain southern provinces. People may cook any part of any animal, in any way. Some people enjoy trying out what others don’t, just to give them some sense of specialness.

This is also the theory as to why Ebola keeps popping up in West Africa - that bats are the natural host for the virus, and that the popularity of “bush meat” bat delicacies is what keeps sparking outbreaks.
I feel like I should be offended by the misconception, but I’m happy that MLP is robust enough that we even have the existence of kirins and bat ponies that make this joke possible, and the ability to come up with this joke.
On a side note, bats are good hosts of viruses like SARS and the recent one, but is not likely to be the direct source. It’s more likely that there’s a middle mammal that got the virus from bats, and then infected the human inside the market with exotic animals. I don’t think most people in China would ever consider bats as delicacy… but you never know how Chinese boomer logic works when it comes to eating exotic animals.

Hmm nope, i don’t sit on this site, it’s usually from YouTube videos about medicine and illness, there it’s very interesting content.
Moreover, this is a fact, this virus went from the market where exotic animals were sold, and there was unsanitary conditions and constant with people, this is an excellent farm for the development of the virus.
Is this a hint that the Chinese have a strange tradition of eating bats?))
Yes, they are must get rid of this tradition. Bats are carriers of many diseases, but they may not feel any damage to themselves.
And eating exotic animals never understood this what is the point. This is unfortunately the problem.
