@Ohvist
And yet, it was that same idol of hers that was forced to split the pony tribes in the first place. But, I digress. If you want to say you’re glad they pulled the plug on G5, then say so.
@Indefinitely Bug Mom
The simple fact that people are still talking and debating about Cozy Glow serves to highlight how memorable and impactful G4 is. I’ve searched all around, and barely anyone is seriously even talking about G5 at all.
I’m back to this site after years, and I’m running through notifications. I have no idea what my stance on this was before, because I likely used an Anonymous name.
But with my now outsider perspective, I can confirm that this image and its comments are a work of art. I only read through about 200 out of 400 comments and the sheer pettiness of some of these arguments are something to behold. Starlight this, Discord that, Cozy deserves to be trapped in stone forever and ever because she’s evil.
I don’t actually have a point but I guess I want to contribute: show about colorful equines, everypony should be redeemed. Would be good for the ratings, and would teach children that even the next scumbag is a living and breathing semi-intelligent person that feels something.
Wow, that’s a lot of comments that I’m not going to read at all. Anywho, I totally dig the little quirks like how the pony who put up those signs only seemed to care about CG, or how they couldn’t figure out how to represent Discord in the sign with the ruler’s CMs. Nice pic.
Me In this Scene: Proceed to Remove almost Everything from the Statue and Replacing it with a Simple Sign on a Stand on the Front, saying: “Do you Want the Evilness Creep Back into your Lives?” and Leaves without further Evaluation
Yea, but she was treated like that without the knowledge of her true intentions and without knowing how she actually interpreted the school’s teachings. Because of this, they could not successfully help her understand it due to her own predisposed skewed views.
Going back to Discord and, by extension, Starlight, both were given second chances, help and proper teaching from Fluttershy and Twilight despite them knowing just who those two were and what they did and were capable of.
And onto Sunset, she’s actually another good example of this. She was Celestia’s student, someone whom no doubt received a lot of kindness and teaching from her and was overall in a very privileged position, yet she still went down the route that she did. In other words, just like Cozy, she was treated well, yet still decided to do bad things. With her redemption, its not that she just worked towards it, its that she was given the opportunity to do so, via Twilight, who convinced her friends to help her achieve that, and Celestia, who was also willing to give her a second chance in school.
The fundamental issue is that Cozy was never provided those opportunities. Nobody tried to help her understand why her views were wrong and no one offered her a second chance. They just skipped all of that and gave her the harshest punishments they could. Because of that, there is no real way of knowing if she could chance for the better or not. All the reformed villains only reformed because they were given those second chances and the help to do so. Cozy received none of that.
@Background Pony #613A
with discord is to discuss the subject more extensively (I never liked the fim discord and I always prefer the one from the comics)
but the thing about cozy is that from the beginning she was treated well and with love, literally the knowledge of friendship that she uses is because twilight and her friends taught it to her, the cmc helped her, the young 6, everyone reached out to her and gave her a hand and she is the one who chose to be bad and about giving her opportunities I’ll put it this way
sunset shimmer nobody trusted her, they didn’t see her capable of changing after just stealing a crown and making a mess with it, serious yes, but not nearly as destructive as what cozy did, nobody wanted to give sunset a chance and what did she do? She wiped away her tears and earned that opportunity and redemption because she wanted it
Cozy didn’t want redemption at all, her face of terror is because she is paying the consequences of her actions, not because she felt or knew that they were wrong

Impactful for all the wrong reasons. G5 kinda should be talked about more. Better characters, better story, better world building…

When you put it that way, technically yes.
Why not? They already let Discord stick around. And the evilness wouldn’t be an issue if they just reform her.
To be fair, they are idiots for falling for a kid’s lie.
edgelord
Oh I see.
Edited
And your point is? XD
Ow the edge
Still redeemable. At least moreso then Discord.
