Very nice! I love these forgotten civilization themed images (especially the ones where the ruins are first discovered by another civilization), they make me feel lots of things

Might I recommend either playing or watching a Let’s Play of Alien: Isolation? I know it sounds like schilling for a product, but the game just gets the series just right. It’s like one massive love letter to the original films.

But yeah I agree on both s, Prometheus could have been great, the whole Xenomorph origin story, but I think Ridley Scott thought it would do well simply because it had his name. Kinda like what Stephen King is to books these days. It’s like Ridley Scott had put out some great stuff in the past like Alien and Blade Runner, but as time went on he just seemed to just “drop his name” in thinking that his movies would just become blockbusters. Now in defnce of Stephen King he at least tried to write under a surname (like a lot of authors do these days) Richard Bachman. He did that to at least see if people liked his stories instead of just his namesake. His son Joe Hill also does this only beacause of who his dad is and he wrote Lock & Key.

But most cinnema these days are trash though there are some gems if you know where to look.

Concept behind Prometheus is awesome. The film itself, not so much.
@chaotic-7
haha, i get ya, you are good. however, that movie hurt me. it killed my love for scifi for years, and it killed my love for cinema. even to this day i just cant enjoy films they way i use to lol

but thanks for the kind words!
@T72B
I wasn’t saying that as a bad thing, it’s just what popped into my head when I saw this. I actually think that this pic is done quite well and considering that we are currently in the month of October (as I am posting this) it nails the ceepy and omnious atmosphere to a T. The complete lack of lighting save for the flashlight gives it a nice touch of Ridley Scott (from his earlier days)
>getting compared to Prometheus

oof, that one stung
@Background Pony #1229
Theres a similar scene in Alien: Isolation (which in my opinion might as well be considered cannon because the layout, story and setting is just that good)

The movi Prometheus suddenly comes to mind.

I had the same thought.
