your idea is cool anyway, but I’m just thinking out loud.
in the case of unicorns, whose magic is active, it would make sense, but on the other hand, ponies themselves emit magic at the molecular level. because it exists as physics. some ponies may emit less magic than others, which is what I thought when I first saw the art

I always thought that non god-tier unicorns wouldn’t be able to handle a TON of magic at once. We’ve seen magic takes physical effort too, so maybe one would want to focus on certain things rather than try to use magic for everything. Also just thought the magnet idea was kinda cool
