Nah bro it’s ok, mobile electronics are intimidating; it’s so east to accidentally break a connector.
You can totally peruse the BIOS settings without changing anything–it gives you an option todiscard changes before you leave. I suggest you look in there, find what you need, and then exit without saving and reboot. Then navigate back to the option and you’ll know you only changed that one thing. Best of luck :)

i cracked it open once to plug and unplug and all and it did boot once and then not again, AI said to replace the fan for 40 bucks. I don’t know about BIOs, i dont wanna touch the software yet. and I don’t wanna touch anything else atm for i have sausage fingers

Don’t get me started on enshittification. I finally sent a certain large company a letter specifying which law they’ve broken and which federal agency (FCC, one of the few agencies that still has the power and the cojones to do something) is getting a copy of the same letter…
You’ve probably already tried, but have you tried updating the BIOS, or unplugging and replugging the fan(s)? I know on my older Dell computers there’s an option to ignore fan warnings in the BIOS but I haven’t checked that in the T440s. And if there isn’t an updated BIOS, maybe someone else with the same issue has cracked a custom BIOS that fixes the issue?

i got a x60 x220 and P16s but only the P16s has some fan issues, it wont boot because the BIOS can’t recognize the fan for some reason. Thanks enshitifcation
It’s from 2014ish so I wouldn’t try installing W11 on it, but drop W7 with an SSD and it’s the perfect low-intensity work tool. Used can be found for very cheap and lots of people love ’em.

I got a ThinkPad for my dad and the sucker has TWO batteries inside it. Not only that, but it has drain holes in case you spill your coffee on it
