Ohhhhhhh…so your saying he’s not the captain now he’s just a grunt in the early stages of his career and this just so happens to be his first day on the job (hence his nervousness) and the reason he doesn’t simply teleporting it away due to his lack of magical talent in such a field yet…wow I can’t believe I didn’t realize it before ,this is a well drawn funny pic ,good job!

We haven’t been shown much of Shining’s 10+ years in the guard before becoming Captain. He could’ve easily been in bomb squad at some point. (Magic Bombs obviously, but my point still stands.)
I gotta ask why is the CAPTAIN of the guard doing this crap,I mean I guess he trying to lead by example buthe looks pretty worried and unsure,was the pony who special talent was bomb defusing(heh imagine how he figured that in the show)sick that day,they got have one I mean they got a bomb suit rigth

Well then he should go get someone who can teleport things. He had time to don that suit, in that time he would have gotten Twilight to help. Or the princesses.

Shining has never been shown to be capable of teleportation in-show. Hell, the only reason Twilight can do it is because she copied it from Nightmare Moon.
Honestly, I’m more curious as to why he isn’t focusing a heavily-charged magic shield around the bomb in case he does screw up.
