Honestly I couldn’t care less about his work. His designs left much to be desired in my opinion, and I find even just looking at his art cringeworthy. However, hacking his is absolutely in bad taste, and fortunately the situation has been dealt with quickly.

I hope this was just a random attack and not from within the fandom. I can’t imagine anyone hating Shep’s work.

I guess, ideally, it would take a name and match it to a in a database that was ill-gotten, or something like that.
 
But in this case, it’s just a virus (judging from comments), meant to entice folks, maybe those with perhaps less than pure intentions. Just like when folks celebrity sex tapes or a free version of some game that happens to be popular.
