Her popultary has gotten too large to be justified by the character herself. Basically she’s “the best ever” simply because people say she is not because what she’s done
 
also much of the reasons why people even like her have been done away with. The nightmare moon event is clearly more celestias flaw than lunas. Luna basically is a fairly boring marry sue and yeah that’s the best word for her a character with no flaws can do anything (but you still feel sorry for her) and everyone loves her
 
and the amount of luna base fan work has resulted in everything has been done that’s why the comics second arcs is veiled as the worst and reads like a bad fanfic because fanfics with the same plot has been done a hundred times

Here, her character gets treated well, so I have no complaints whatsoever.

I thought that was an awesome moment. I have no idea why people complain about that aside from their precises “Celestia is all-powerful cause I said so” mental handicap or some shit.

And by the way, some might say that it was lame that she still needed help of the townsfolk to ward off the threat, I say that it makes it even more badass, because that shows that Celestia can kick ass without doing away with the basic tenants of the show.
 
Besides, I love the implication that her people love her so much that they would throw their lives to certain death in order to help her out.

If Celestia can do anything, there wouldn’t need to be any Elements of Harmony in the first place then, huh? Then she’d be the biggest deus ex machina/mary sue ever.

Technically, it’s Luna that’s the slacker. Okay, Celestia shot her down when she wanted to deal with Sombra, but she conspicuously absent during any other crisis.

“The micro will be great,” they said.
 
“Celestia will finally get center stage!” they said.
