Earth ponies have their :earth pony magic:, the grass they step on probably never grows wild. Unicorns would either magic it or ask one that could, probably a few specialists. Same for the few pegasus that’d live on the ground.
The main this is it’s reduced from a difficult task you can’t really do without specialized tools to a mere inconvenience. Most people don’t spend a decade or invest in R&D over inconveniences.

Look.. At least earth ponies (and lyra) would need something like that for yard/farm work. They do everything by hoof. And yes, magic may be cheating when it comes to that, but useful mechanical devices may be helpful in certain situations as long as they know what they’re doing.

This is probably an issue where art will be important, but I’m at least comforted that Fleecs’ cover version of Discord looks great, so his interior art should be just fine.
