The protagonist central morality (and abilities/competence come to think of it) is disturbing, but ultimately what can ya do?
Dont worry, if Trixie had done it she would have only gotten away with life imprisonment and maybe some public lashings - presumably while some sort of song was being sung about how ponies need to take responsibility for their terrible terrible actions.

To be fair, that was more of a big accident involving Twilight’s spell. Dash in DRB completely destroyed the entire town just to go faster.
Ponyville must just have a whole history of being ruined by things, so much that they just stopped caring. Considering how lax they are when the town is wrecked.
I was execting them to make one last use of Twilights potion thing, just a sip or two. She would only need enough to do to the town what she did in the Mare do well episode.

Yeah, she over-propelled Dash with a seesaw launcher, caused a baby bunny stampede, and gave some ponies food poisoning.
Of course, the baby bunny stampede was more the ponies overreacting to something that wasn’t remotely dangerous.
