Yeah, if you can get three marshmallows out of Filly Rarity, then you should definitely be able to get more out of Adult Rarity. But I was just going by what was shown in the picture.
If one Rarity yields three marshmallows, and one marshallow produces one Rarity, then plant two marshmallows and have twice the harvest next time. As a lifelong produce farmer from a family of produce farmers, I would’ve thought that Applejack would grasp the concept of expanding your crop to meet demands.

Marshmallows are made with horse hooves tissue that is boiled until the proteins on them are separated, then it is clarified to add it to sugar. They also use fish bones too.
I think I can agree with that myself. However, I can easily believe someone, somewhere around here would make the argument that simply because Rarity is a pony, ignoring the joke in the image, that the tag still applies.

While we’re nitpicking about tags, “ponies eating meat” really doesn’t belong unless marshmallows are made of meat, which I don’t think they are.
AJ is probably saving other marshmallows to grow more Rarities.
Though, sometimes you get a Sweetie Belle instead.

So, borderline, in that it’s part of an animal, but not the fleshy bits we generally consider meat.
