The reason why people tend to get up in arms about the Flashlight pairing is because they continue to mistake Pony Flash Sentry with Human Flash Sentry, who everyone can agree is a crap character, and therefore undeserving.
And then there’s the “waifu” thing which some people take too seriously.

Well, they are so bent on resenting us that they don’t even try to take a second to realize that this these types of problem individuals exist in other prominent fandoms too.
