For the record, I was just asking about opinions of Times New Roman as it’s considered a classic font. Personally, I myself much prefer the simplicity and readability of Verdana.

Meh. Papyrus is another font that is horrendously overused by clueless idiots trying to make their clueless, idiotic writings look “like, totally pretty and deep and stuff”, but not quite to the extent of Comic Sans, and unlike CS it’s not an objectively, technically deficient type set, hastily based on first-grader scrawlings for a hilariously failed OS. (Yes, I know that Connare claims to have based it on the lettering of Watchmen and The Dark Knight Returns. Do not believe his lies.)

Have you ever seen a real, professionally produced comic lettered with Comic Sans? Or anything that looks like Comic Sans? No, you haven’t, because comic professionals have some god-damn pride.
Comic Sans is what you use if you are a stodgy, old middle manager who wants his dry, boring memos to look “whimsical” and “approachable”.
Comic Sans is to actual comic lettering what a shoddy, Chinese, G3.5 rip-off “My Pretty Pony” toy is to the high-quality, show-accurate vinyl figures from Funko.
I will go for Tahoma instead!
If I want to be a bit fancier, I go with Monotype Corsiva. And if I’m feeling REALLY fancy, I use Canterbury. xD

I’m not saying Verdana is objectively better, just that I like and use it.
But to be honest, I think too many people treat font styles as Serious Business. It’s just a font. :)
