The tool I was using to modify the game didn’t let me access them, so I had to dump the entire game into image files, manually edit the code directly and re-compile into a game. There was a very good chance of mes, and even a small mistake when editing the game directly can render it completely broken, so I left these guys for later out of fear. Worked fine though.
Most of them are just the original shopkeepers made into pony designs, but the weapons one isn’t. Instead, I designed her to look like the Legendary Blacksmith from Final Fantasy 3’s remake. Also her cutie mark was supposed to be a Fate/Stay Night reference (Archer’s swords) but at the game’s resolution it’s impossible to tell. Oh well.
There are basically just two things left for me to do before I’m satisfied enough to release the game:
1)Figure out a way to edit the opening and ending text scrolls
2)Figure out how in the world I can ponify Kraken and Tiamat. Seriously, I have no idea where to even start with these two.
Yup, I used Mane-iac’s look for the Medusa, it seemed appropriate.
I would suggest Maniac, but then I think there’s already a Medusa enemy. :/
The thing I found weirdest about PF6 was that while they were busy nerfing some things, they went ahead and made Pinkie Pie more broken than Gau ever was. The ability to equip weapons before you even get a merit award? Complete control over which abilities you use and when? She is just ridiculously overpowered. That’s not a complaint really, I had fun messing around with her. Just something I found strange.
Thank god. Finally someone who gets it.
Looking forward to it, haven’t played FF1 in years.
This is so far an entirely aesthetic modification - I’m not changing a thing about enemy or player stats. I intend to, at most, fix some of the bugs like the three or so spells that do absolutely nothing, but the ones that are “good” bugs, like the Peninsula of Power, are staying.
Examples. PF6, changing around the battle commands? Awesome. Changing equipment effects, mp usage, and generally nerfing everything? Bad.
I considered that, but then there’s already a Hydra monster. And Tiamat is my favourite fiend, so I really wanted to find a way to change her while still keeping her identity. Like, maybe redesign her to resemble the dragons from the show. Or maybe just leave her alone? I dunno.
