Well, the “…and you should” is pretty strongly implied in the picture itself. It’s not a bad message, though, and it’s definitely in-character for Pinkie Pie.
IF you want to link it to “important truths that need to be said” by way of free speech, then you can also say important truths without going out of your way to offend the people you’re supposedly helping. In fact, it’s usually easier to get the message across that way. Which is another thing that was covered by the show itself, actually.

Yes, it was. I straight up overreacted to the early comments because I only looked at the front of the source URL and not the end where the Artist Intent was lampshaded, so when people who have a history of ing certain bigoted viewpoints started chiming in and complaining about a message which was not present in the art itself, I assumed they were playing to character every bit as much as I was. I still don’t believe that they even bothered to look at the source until after they were challenged on complaining about the picture itself, but once the source was pointed out I was agreeing with TenaflyViper about it being a crapulous sentiment, for crying out loud, which I guess was just too much of a screeching brakes sound for Ande– who posted this here in a deliberate attempt to incite a riot– to resist coming in and dropping firecrackers in the chamber pot.

The point is that there was one redacted who was “shittalking eachother without actual discussion”, but TSP comes in acting like every else is also just taking unconnected potshots at each other instead of what we were actually doing, which was wasting everyone’s time with wildy off-topic yelling about the stupid turtle.
…The next step is, of course, to start blaming me for that even though I’m not the one who keeps bringing it up in the hilariously mistaken belief that it’s some kind of argument-winning silver bullet, because this kind of arglebargle always devolves into one of the mods– who could have stepped in and shut it the hell down before it started– acting like I was the one who started it.

It would make me happier if maybe once or twice you people wouldn’t wait until there were already two or three screens full of off-topic shitflinging before you stepped in and did anything about it. It stops being just another story of a plucky underdog winning out through determination when it is specifically a guy playing for a girl’s affection and straight up refusing to go away when unambiguously told to go away. It’s reinforcing a shitty and dangerous cultural meme of dudes who want something from a girl being presented like they deserve it just for wanting it and her decision doesn’t matter, in a medium and message that children are predisposed to take to heart.
If she had continued just trying to discourage him because he didn’t have a chance, that would be different. That’s not what happened. She friggin’ well told him to go away because he was creepy.
