Discord having a thing for Fluttershy seemed to be completely confirmed by this episode. But Hugger and Shy? They themselves only acted like friends. You guys are as delusional as Discord was being.

Not to mention that if Tree Hugger was male then the whole episode would be a textbook love-triangle situation. Discord was seriously acting like a guy whose crush started dating someone else. And I’m pretty sure that gazing affectionately into the eyes of someone you have not know for that long is something “just friends” do.

Sure, let’s just ignore the fact that Discord spent the entire episode treating Tree Hugger as love rival for Fluttershy’s affections (for example, freaking out over Fluttershy touching her date’s shoulder, which would be totally innocuous in a strictly “friendly” sense, but has a ton of meaning in a romantic sense), or the fact that, excepting Twilight who apparently didn’t invite anyone, Fluttershy was the only one of the Mane 6 not to invite a platonic sibling, or the fact that Fluttershy was the only one to spend the entire evening with her date, or all the longing glances she threw towards her, such as >>897522…
I mean, I’ve heard of anti-shippers having their heads in the sand, but this is getting ridiculous…

The animators trying to contrast the colors two ponies who will be in close proximity to each other? Plus them being in a relationship would dampen the “having many friends” morale of the episode. Keep your shipping tendencies in check.
Actually, I think I would if I were to write something involving romance. I could easily see Fluttershy and Tree Hugger getting together. They have a lot in common and clearly possess a strong bond. That’s often how these things get going.
Are you seriously saying that in a single decade they are going to show a main character starting a lesbian couple in a cartoon for little girls? Sorry my friend but this kind of products need far more time to do those kind of leaps. Perhaps in half a century.
