Eh, I don’t think pyrotechnics and rocketry are as closely related as you seem to be implying. I mean, the Chinese invented gunpowder and fireworks more than a thousand years ago, but nobody on Earth had working full-sized rockets until Wernher von Braun invented the V-2 under the generous funding of Nazi . Granted, America MIGHT have been able to make working rockets a bit earlier in the 20th century IF we had taken Robert H. Goddard and his ideas a bit more seriously. Heck, we wouldn’t even have NASA if we didn’t scoop up von Braun and a whole mess of other Nazi scientists with Operation Paperclip in the aftermath of World War II.
I suppose the point I’m trying to make is that I have doubts Equestria currently has anything close to functional rocketry by its present point in time, but I wouldn’t put it past Germaney/Germaneigh.

At first glance a LOT of people, myself included, thought it was Scorpion. Most still do think its him.
However I’ve done some research and the pony in question mostly resembles Ermac from MK9 NOT MK3.

At the very least, they’re acquainted with the concept of rocketry, but we’ve known that since Trixie was using fireworks. Whether they’ve scaled it up is uncertain.

They referenced mortal kombat waaay back in the nightmare night episode, when a pony dressed up as scorpion, so it doesnt come as a surprise. Besides mlp is now just a glorified easter egg hunt. @Joshua
I’ve not seen ed the end of season 3, as the show died on me and got dull but, i’m hearing this episode had a lot of things in it.
